Modern family
Family is the most important thing in a person’s life. You can find love and support in the family, as well as share your love and support someone. Of course, the concept of family has changed. With each generation, this social institution undergoes various metamorphoses. What kind of family do we see today?
In modern families, it is customary for both spouses to work. If earlier it was considered normal that the husband is the breadwinner of the family, and the woman is the keeper of the hearth, now many women will not agree to such a scenario.
Modern girls want to be independent, bold, determined and do not want to depend financially on their spouse. Many modern wives refuse to lead a life on their own and ask for an au pair. Some men do not like it, but some themselves believe that cleaning services are modern and necessary for everyone.
Sometimes it also happens that a woman is the breadwinner of the family, and a man is the keeper of the hearth. Now husbands-housewives do not surprise anyone. Sometimes in such a situation, a woman can forget that she is a woman. She lacks the physical and moral strength for tenderness, affection, creating comfort, cooking.
Modern families live separately from the husband’s parents and the wife’s parents. Multi-generational families have become a rarity. Young spouses strive to get separate housing in every possible way, so families take mortgages, save money, work a lot. This causes stress and fatigue, so there is no time for household chores, communication, caring for each other.
There are many large families among modern families, but there are families with an only child or two children. Many women do not want to rush into childbirth. They want to build a career first and achieve heights. Also, many women think that in the modern world a child is very expensive, so they push their husbands to save. The issue of separate housing is also of great importance. Not every family will decide to have a child in a rented apartment.
In conclusion, we can say that it is impossible to give a clear definition of the modern family. Families are different regardless of the time where a person lives. Happiness and unhappiness do not depend on material goods and the era. This is an internal state that is influenced by the person himself and the people around him. The family plays a great role in the self-perception of the individual. It is this social institution that influences whether a person will be happy or not.
Семья — самое главное в жизни человека. В семье можно найти любовь и поддержку, а также поделиться своей любовью и кого-то поддержать. Конечно же, понятие семьи изменилось. С каждым поколением этот социальный институт претерпевает различные метаморфозы. Какую же семью мы видим сегодня?
В современных семьях принято, чтобы работали оба супруга. Если раньше считалось нормальным, что муж — кормилец семьи, а женщина — хранительница очага, то сейчас многие женщины не согласятся на такой сценарий.
Современные девушки хотят быть самостоятельными, смелыми, решительными и не хотят зависеть материально от супруга. Многие современные жены отказываются вести быт самостоятельно и просят помощницу по хозяйству. Некоторым мужчинам это не нравится, но некоторые сами считают, что услуги клининга — это современно и необходимо каждому.

Family life in Russia has always been an important part of its identity. Russian households are traditionally large and close-knit. They include not just a husband, wife and children, but also grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
The family in Russia is changing. People are getting married at a later age, the future spouses are anxious to receive good education and find a decent job. Many career-oriented women don’t want to have children immediately. They prefer to do well at their jobs first and become financially independent. So they put off having a baby until their late thirties.
More and more couples are choosing «civil unions» over official marriages. A civil union is a relationship where a man and a woman live together and share household expenses without officially registering a marriage. Civil union is a great opportunity for the young couple to test their feelings and make sure they are ready for a family life together.
However, the family and marriage are still popular. Most people in Russia still get married and live together until the end of their lives. Russians cherish their families and are always ready to help their relatives in difficult times. Many divorced people marry again and sometimes they take responsibility for the second family. Relationships within the modern family are also being transformed. Parents treat their children more as equals than they used to.

My family consists of my father, mom, me and my brother Andrew. All of them are responsible, trustworthy and kind. It is not a huge but very united family.
As for my father, he is a man of action. Dad is always straightforward and ambitious. He does everything for our family. My father knows what he wants. That is why his own business has grown really fast. In the future I will create something like this.
My mother is high-tempered person but she is really kind and caring. She works as an artist. Her pictures are very impressive.

I want to say that my parents influenced our choice of the lifestyle. These were their dreams that came true. And we didn’t choose our own goals because of their requests. We did it because of love and energy they gave us.
The most people get from his family the best things and the worst. From the closest people we learn all the moral values and world outlook. That is the function of the family. This is the reason why we create our own vision and so we write new history.
To sum up, I’m sure that if someone asks you why you love the family you will be quiet. Because it is not a simple question. We will not find the reasons for love. I know that the family is the protection and you can feel this great and powerful support.

Types of families.
Family is the basic society unit which plays in important role in the process of a person’s socialization. In modern society there are a number of types of family.
An extended family is a family consist of two or more generations who are related either by blood or marriage. Usually, it means that grandparents live with their children and grandchildren. This allows grandparents to look after the children when parents are working.
A nuclear family is a traditional type of family consisting of two parents and children.
In such family parents and children have a closer relationship them in an extended family. Sometimes a nuclear family becomes a multi-children. In such families’ children share parents’ attention.
Because of divorce there are mixed family, when parents helps children from a previous relationship.
An incomplete family consists of a single parents raising children. Responsible children usually grow up in such a family.
My family is extended. It consists of my parents, my grandmother and my sister and me. We maintain communication and good relations with relatives.
Problems of free time.
Today our life is getting faster and faster. People of all age groups have almost no free time. All because a large number of cases forces us to literally schedule the whole week in minutes. Often this happens because of work, study or any household chores. Of course, having free time is not the main thing. The ability to organize and plan is what is important. Thanks to these skills you can do whatever you want. Such as traveling, studding or doing a hobby. It should be something that makes you happy and helps you enjoy life. I devote my free time to self-development, drawing, trips and doing things that make me feel good.

The modern family structure and roles of each
member have changed in the recent years. Do you think it has a negative or a
positive effect on families? Give your opinion and relevant examples.
The modern family has evolved in
concert with industrialization, science, and technology. From large extended
families living together to becoming nuclear families, many people have
undergone this change. This essay shall
explore these changes that happened overtime and evince how it is a positive
development rather than negative.
The traditional family has typically
been represented as a father, mother, and one or more children. Here, the father
was usually the breadwinner — the family’s primary source of income. The
mother, on the other hand, was usually the caretaker of the household, meaning she
would mind the children, the cooking, cleaning, and so on. It would also
sometimes include grandparents, uncles, and aunts. These families would stay
together and share their problems and responsibilities together. However, in
time the families drifted apart, because of technological intervention within
their dependence on one another.
Towards the 90s, a
new familial structure had started to develop. With the government providing
for the elderly, families began to consist only of a father, mother, and
children. Technology began to provide great innovations that would assist a
mother with her household chores. Since the last decade, both the father and mother
are working, and care of the offspring is assumed by schools and then day-care
centers. This model of the family has been very sought after ever since its
introduction, and a majority of the families are now under this paradigm.
Many people feel threatened by this changing
model of the family, opining that the new family structures that have taken the
place of traditional ones are anachronistic whose demise is only a question of
time. However, this new lifestyle is proving to be of utmost convenience to the
new families and it is unlikely that people would want to go back. Also, as
technological progress won’t stop, the families will evolve and adapt more with
the changes.
To conclude, the modern family
structures are definitely a positive development. Despite being publicised as
weakened and embattled, I personally feel this family will survive as a
fundamental social institution for years to come.

My parents have been married for 18 years. They usually work hard. They have a lot in common but they have different views on music, books, and movies. For example, my father likes horror films whereas my mother likes comedies; my father is fond of football but my mother doesn’t like any sports.
My grandmother is retired. She lives with us and helps us to run the house. My sister’s name is Alice. She is younger than me and she’s a schoolgirl. I like playing with her on the backyard.
I want to go to university because I would like to study foreign languages. I always try to be in a good mood. We are a good family and we have a lot of relatives.

I have a big lovely family. Well, let me introduce myself to you. My name is Alina. I am 12 years old. Besides me, there are two more children in our family. My older brother’s name is Igor; my younger sister’s name is Lena.
Igor is twenty-four. He works as an engineer for a small company. He graduated from university two years ago. It is very good to have an elder brother. As a rule, he helps Lena and me to do our homework. Lena is ten years old. She says her dream is to become a doctor in the future. However, nobody knows that I like this idea.
Also, we have a big pet. It is a dog. We like to look after it. Its name is Mushket and it is my favourite one. I like playing and having fun with my favourite pet. Sometimes, I have to play with my sister too. But, unfortunately, she is too small to share secrets with.
My parents are not strict. My Daddy is over fifty and he works as a driver. He is a very kind man. My Mummy is nearly fifty. I am proud of the fact that she works in the local library. She has been a librarian for a lot of years. My mum knows plenty of interesting stories.
As well as me, my mother has parents. It means I have grandparents. My grandfather and grandmother used to work at school as teachers. Now, they are retired and live in a village. They have a kitchen garden and they enjoy growing things. In summer my grandparents spend all their time in the garden harvesting vegetables.
My sister and I like swimming, so on Saturdays we usually go to swimming pool. At weekends my family always goes shopping. We usually buy food and some nice toys for Lena and me. On Sundays we all usually cook together in the kitchen. In the evening we get together at the table to have nice dinner. I love my family!

My name is Maria. I am fifteen years old. I am a high-school student. I am at French school, so I study English and French. I like learning languages and writing things. I am going to be an international journalist.
I have a family: a father, mother, and brother. I love them a lot. My father is fifty three and he is an English teacher. He loves his job and he is really into teaching English.
My mother is forty six. She is a beautiful lady with huge green eyes. She is a landscape designer. My mom has clever fingers and she makes wonderful things at her work. She loves her job as well.
My brother is twenty and he is a musician. He is a conservatory student and he studies clarinet and piano. He can write music and he is very keen on doing it. I like his music. I think he is going to be a great composer.
What the best thing we like is going bowling. We enjoy it a lot and we often go to bowling club. Sometimes, we think that it would be nice to have our own bowling at home. I have very nice family. We get on very well with each other.
